The Coronado 34 was first introduced in 1966 by Westco. In 1968 Westco was sold to Wittaker Corporation, and in 1969 Wittaker introduced the Coronado 34, among other models, under the name of Coronado Yachts, as a division of the Whittaker Corp. Whittaker had been in the boat production business since 1963 as Columbia Yachts. They produced some other interesting marine related products such a life pods used for emergency evacuation on offshore oil rigs. The Coronado's were originally produced only in the plant in Costa Mesa, CA. Larger boats would eventually be built at the Columbia plant in either Portsmouth or Chesapeake, VA.

The original brochure of the Coronado 34 best describes the attributes of the design. "When you take command of the Coronado 34, you immediately assume the nice position of being the skipper of a champion. Her unique design without sacrificing comfort has made her highly respected with the racing set. Ease of traveling and immediate response will make others envy your ability as a skipper. You will marvel at the unique T-design cockpit that allows comfort while racing for skipper and crew. The Coronado 34's superb construction of fiberglass with built-in safety features is immediately evident by inspection. The investment is assured by the quality of construction and the integrity of the builder."

The Coronado 34 is designed as a competitor without sacrificing comfort. Her modern design with fin keel and spade rudder makes her exceptionally maneuverable. She handles well to weather and because of her light displacement, she is a performer in light air. You will be delighted with her surfing capability. If you desire to race to win, do it with the Coronado 34!

O'Day 23 Hans Solo

The Hans Solo is an O'Day 23. She has tiller steering, a centerboard, an 6hp 4 stroke outboard, depth sounder, ice box and porta potty. She is fun to sail and has a pop-top while at anchorages!

Hans is only available to charter for local daysailing, but we offer packages where you sail by day and then stay aboard in the marina for the night! a little spartin, yet fun and functional.

Mexico Sailing at its Best

Take a trip up the coast of San Carlos and discover why many people consider this part of the Sea of Cortez the best cruising grounds in the world. There is a choice of several small coves to anchor in, each only a few miles from the next one. The Sonoran Desert reaches right up to the water's edge and there are majestic mountains in the background. The fishing, snorkeling, and kayaking are excellent. This part of the Sea of Cortez is frequented by lots of marine life. Several types of whales roam these waters and it is not unusual to see hundreds of dolphins. Some islands have resident Sea Lion colonies and the Midriff Islands have up to 120 bird species.
